Our Story

When Janet and I first met over forty years ago, we discovered a shared instinct for the off-the-beaten-path. For years, the fast-paced rhythm of career and family took center stage. But the moment we stopped working and finally found some breathing room, we realized a deep truth: our hunger for the untamed world hadn't been traveled all the way.

We immediately hit the road, journeying to the other side of the world for a three-week expedition through Australia and New Zealand. Standing along the edge of the Great Barrier Reef, we were completely bitten by the travel bug. A wild idea took shape: What if we could set out to see 100 of the world's most far-away wonders just like this?

Our independent, DIY learning accelerated into high gear. We established a beautifully intense rhythm: home for just a few weeks, and then right back out into the world. Back in our house, we pushed colored pins into a massive wall map each year. That historic 100-country milestone finally arrived in September 2025 in Bosnia—and the seed for this website was planted.

For the last few years, we have dedicated our retirement to a pure volunteer service, building custom itineraries for friends, family, and fellow seniors. We designed this space as a natural extension of that helping hand. We aren't here to sell you gear, tours, or corporate sponsorships. We are simply here to help you roam the world easier, cheaper, and with the exact same wonder we found along the way.
